A 30-second decision: start with your available date
Choose one city by your available date and intended experience.
- Oct 9–11 · Seoul, Suwon, Jinju, Naju or Gyeongju → choose one programme
- Oct 12–18 · Jinju is the remaining option in this list → check viewing times and your return
- Earlier events · Andong ended Oct 4; Gimje ends Oct 5 → neither fits Oct 9–11
- Planning order · Date → one programme → booking, transport, meals and rest
Remove events that do not fit your dates
Andong and Gimje do not fit an Oct 9–11 festival trip. A festival period does not guarantee a particular show or activity runs every day; recheck your programme and booking conditions.

Seven festivals at a glance
The festival date range is the first filter for your trip. It does not mean every show or activity runs every day. Once you choose a city, match the exact programme to your visit date.

October 9–11 and 12–18: which festivals still fit?
These options compare the published periods rechecked on Oct 5. Andong is retained as an ended event, separate from later travel options. The comparison does not establish same-day operation or live availability.
- Oct 5: Gimje, Jinju and Suwon. Gimje's published period ends today; check individual programmes.
- Oct 7–8: Jinju, Suwon, the Seoul palace festival and Naju.
- Oct 9–11: Jinju, Suwon, the Seoul palace festival, Naju and Gyeongju overlap on all three dates.
- Oct 12–18: only Jinju remains within its published period in this list.

Andong: ended October 4; later visits are general sightseeing
The published festival period was Sep 24–Oct 4. Exclude it from festival trips after Oct 4. The organiser listed venues including Central Line 1942, Maskdance Park, downtown and Hahoe Village.
General sightseeing is separate from the ended festival. Check attraction opening hours and entry conditions for a later visit; this article has not verified post-festival performances or attraction operation.
Planning priority
Choose the performance time and venue before choosing transport. Check that you can get home after it ends.
Gimje: start with the agricultural-culture theme
The published period ends Oct 5, so this is not an Oct 9–11 option. Gimje's official introduction centres on agricultural culture. Families interested in that theme can use Byeokgolje as the starting point for a visit during Oct 1–5.
For a hands-on activity, check registration, age and guardian requirements before arranging travel. The official site has programme, registration, shuttle and parking sections; this article has not checked live activity availability or shuttle times. Keep a general visit separate from a booked activity so a sold-out session does not determine the entire trip.
Jinju: plan the riverside visit and the return together
Jinju's festival runs at the fortress and Namgang River from Oct 3–18, giving more date flexibility than the shorter events. If Oct 9–11 does not work, consider a later date within the published period.
For an evening visit, plan dinner, viewing and your journey home as one sequence. Allow separate time to reach a station or terminal. With children, keep the viewing route short and add a rest break. Lighting times, bridge charges and paid zones have not been verified here; do not assume every part is free.
Suwon: pair a fortress walk with one performance
Suwon's festival runs from Oct 4–11 around Hwaseong Fortress. The official introduction describes cultural programmes in historic settings including the fortress and Yongyeon.
Use one scheduled performance as your anchor, with a nearby walking section and meal around it. Choose a route that suits your companions rather than trying to walk the whole fortress. If you want a royal procession or another linked event, check its own date, route and traffic restrictions separately.
Seoul palaces: choose one palace and one programme
The autumn palace festival runs Oct 7–11 at Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Deoksugung, Changgyeonggung and Jongmyo. Choose one palace and one programme instead of trying to cover all five places in a day.
Published examples show why programme details matter: Gyeongbokgung's Hanbok Yeonhyang runs Oct 9–10, 19:00–21:00. Deoksugung's Junmyeongdang Children's School runs Oct 9–11 at 10:00, 13:00 and 16:00, for ages 7–10 with hanbok required. Scene 2 of Changgyeonggung's Moonlight Lotus is restricted to advance-reservation holders.
The announcement directs programme bookings to Ticketlink and international programmes to Creatrip. Live availability has not been checked. Ordinary palace sightseeing may be a backup, but entry conditions, closure days and fees must be checked separately.
Age and clothing are part of the booking
A children's programme may exclude younger children. Check the programme, date, age range, clothing and booking availability in that order.

Naju: choose a performance or a garden outing
Naju runs Oct 7–11 at Yeongsangang Garden, with the official address listed as Yeongsan-dong 757-1. The overview includes an opening ceremony, performances, exhibitions and activities.
If a performance is the reason for your trip, find its time and stage first. For a garden and exhibition outing, plan walking, meals and rest around your companions. This article has not cross-checked artists or seating arrangements, so match the programme timetable before booking accommodation or long-distance travel.
Gyeongju: choose a starting venue
Silla Cultural Festival runs Oct 9–11 around Bonghwangdae and Woljeonggyo. Start by choosing which venue will anchor your Gyeongju visit.
If you want both, match the day's programme locations to your route and use a meal or rest break between them. Only the festival dates and main venues have been verified here, not show times, lighting or traffic controls. Keep general sightseeing distinct from attendance at a specific festival programme.
Families, car-free trips and evening visits
These are editorial planning suggestions, not verified accessibility ratings or guarantees that every activity suits all ages. Once you narrow the options, check the actual route and participation conditions.
- With younger children: pick one venue, a short route and a rest stop before adding activities. Check steps and toilets along the route.
- With school-age children: check the actual age and equipment requirements; a children's activity can still have a narrow age range.
- Without a car: check the final connection from station or terminal and the return after the programme ends.
- For evening viewing: finish travel and dinner first, choose a manageable route and set a departure time.

Parking, shuttles, booking and costs: a useful order
Before driving, check venue access restrictions, backup parking, the route from parking to the entrance and how you will leave afterwards. Check charges and whether you can retrieve the car after the event. No unverified parking capacity, fees or shuttle intervals are supplied here.
Split the budget into admission, booked activities or seats, return transport and parking, and food or accommodation. A free festival does not imply every nearby facility or activity is free.
On a booking page, check party size, age rules, entry time and cancellation terms, then save the booking. For a shuttle, check the return stop and final service as well as the outbound journey.
- 1. Establish the date, programme venue and time.
- 2. Check party size, age, clothing, equipment and available places.
- 3. Check traffic controls, parking, shuttles and return transport.
- 4. Recheck weather, cancellations and your booking cancellation deadline.

Questions that change your plan
These answers distinguish the published date ranges from editorial planning advice.
- Can I see Andong's festival on Oct 5? Its published period ends Oct 4. General sightseeing is a separate plan.
- Can I visit after Oct 11? In this list, Jinju runs until Oct 18. Check programme times and transport separately.
- Can I see everything at the palace festival without booking? Conditions vary. Scene 2 of Moonlight Lotus requires advance reservations.
- Should I combine all seven in one trip? We suggest starting with one city and a programme you want, rather than maximising intercity travel.
- Will events move indoors if it rains? Check each organiser's notice. Indoor activities can also need booking.
What was checked, and when to recheck
On Oct 5, 2026 Korea time, the seven official pages were checked for date ranges, main venues and the specific introductions and palace programme conditions mentioned here. Route and selection suggestions are editorial advice, not first-hand reviews.
Live availability, entry and activity charges, parking, traffic controls, same-day operation and weather have not been checked. Recheck your programme and transport on your travel day. Generated images are illustrative; the original comparison graphic compares published date ranges.
